Prioritizing Education and Inclusion
Michael Snyder is a native of San Jose. He has resided in San Jose for the last 51 years. He has served as a Campbell Union School District Board member for the past 12 years. He has been the President, Vice president, and Clerk of the School Board.

Michael attended Blackford Elementary and Campbell Junior High. After graduating Del Mar high school, he graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Liberal Arts and a minor in mathematics. After college, he pursued and completed his teaching credential.
In May 2004 he completed his MA in Education Administration from San Jose State University. He has been an elementary school teacher in the Sunnyvale School District for the last 27 years, teaching Kindergarten and 2nd through 5th grade.

While growing up in San Jose, Michael took a job with the City of San Jose, Department of Recreation, Parks and Community Services at the age of 15. From 1985 through 1992, Michael worked as a Recreational Leader at various centers and Citywide Youth Services. He worked for various events such as Event Coordinator 1991 Youth in Government Day, San Jose Prep Basketball League Coordinator, assisted Mayor’s Youth Conference and Mayor’s Holiday Basketball Tournament., lead 1990 Hot Feet Day Camp, and ran after school programs at the neighborhood elementary schools and parks.
During his tenure as an elementary school teacher, Michael has been a Summer School Principal, Mentor teacher, Teacher In Charge and an Ab466, SB472 Mathematics Presenter for Santa Clara, Contra Costa County & San Joaquin Valley Offices of Education. He is a well-organized, resourceful, enthusiastic person with strong classroom experiences. He maintains a safe, respectful, positive and effective learning environment. He enjoys working with fellow teachers and administrators in developing new activities, implementing beneficial resources, and refining his teaching skills.
He will be an advocate for students, families, and educators while serving as an objective community member. He will prudently manage and administer tax dollars, insisting on accountability.
Michael is married to Ramona and they have three children. Their children; ReElle, Ryston, and Rayce went to Sherman Oaks Elementary and Monroe Middle School. He is proud to still be living and raising his family in CUSD district.
